CHOOSING BETWEEN OUR WIDE AND NARROW BRUSHES.

The narrow brush is ideal for most manicures. The dust and debris produced during routine cuticle processing is typically minimal, particularly for clients who receive regular treatments. Its compact fibres are highly efficient at removing fine particles, allowing for a precise and controlled manicure.

The wide brush is especially effective for clients with drier, hyperkeratotic, or more adherent cuticles, where processing may generate a greater volume of dust and debris. Having both narrow and wide brushes available allows for a more prescriptive manicure, enabling you to select the appropriate brush for each client’s cuticle type.

Both widths are designed for outstanding comfort. Once correctly fitted to the finger, the brush moves intuitively with your hand, allowing for effortless manoeuvring throughout the service.

WHERE SHOULD OUR BRUSHES BE WORN?

Most manicurists prefer to wear the brush on the finger they naturally use to stabilise their hand. If you stabilise with your little finger, we recommend wearing it on the little finger. If you stabilise with your ring finger, wearing it on the ring finger will usually feel most natural.

Position the brush at the midpoint of your finger, facing the area of the nail you are treating for optimal control and comfort.

ARE OUR BRUSHES AUTOCLAVE-COMPATIBLE?

Our signature fibres are autoclave-compatible. Before autoclaving, ensure they are thoroughly cleaned and free from residue. Fibres may be cleaned with mild detergents in ultrasonic cleaners, which provide an additional level of debris removal. Autoclave using a wrapped cycle only. Avoid unwrapped, fast, or dry cycles, as over-drying may cause minor deformation or weakening of the fibres. Always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines when autoclaving different materials, this is generally standardised at 121°C (250°F) for plastics. The specified autoclave settings for plastics apply only to our brush fibres, not to their handles.

ARE OUR BRUSHES COMPATIBLE WITH BARBICIDE?

Yes, our brushes are compatible with Barbicide (a quaternary ammonium compound). To preserve the integrity of the brush and ensure effective disinfection, please follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.

ARE OUR BRUSHES COMPATIBLE WITH HOCl?

Yes, our brushes were compatibility-tested with Labology 3 and passed those assessments when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. We recommend Labology 3 because the manufacturer states it is BPR compliant and has been independently tested against 21 BS EN categories, including EN 14348, a stringent mycobactericidal test used for disinfectants intended for medical-area instruments.

Hypochlorous acid formulations vary substantially between brands: concentration (ppm of available free chlorine), pH, stability and impurities all influence antimicrobial performance and materials compatibility. For that reason, we do not recommend substituting other HOCl products without confirming their specifications and test results, as formulation inconsistencies can compromise both efficacy and material safety.

WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF OUR SIGNATURE FIBRES?

The lifespan of our fibres is largely influenced by their usage and maintenance. When cleaned in accordance with our product care guidelines, the fibres retain their durability over time. Due to the more intensive nature of autoclaves, fibres subjected to this process may gradually fade in colour. Fibres may appear slightly compressed after autoclaving within the autoclave pouch. This does not affect performance and they will resume their original shape once reinserted into their handles.

HOW OFTEN MUST BRUSHES BE REPLACED?

Brushes should not be replaced according to a set schedule per se, but they should be routinely inspected.

Evidence of material degradation over time may impair the ability to adequately clean and disinfect the tool. Any brush showing signs of structural compromise, damage, or deterioration should be removed from service.

With appropriate care and correct disinfection practices, our brushes are designed for durability and can remain in service for a long time.
